“The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they make the best of everything.”
Philadelphia, PA: Thursday, June 7th.
Will be there in spirit….wish I could IRL but that (sometimes) pesky thing called work is in the way.Same place as last year. Across the street from the art museum at Eakins Oval.
6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 7th
After we meet, we will cross the street and run that path.

High-res
My friend & 2 of his teens just finished a 65 mile bike ride. 2 more of his teens are 25 miles away from the finish line for 100 miles! So impressed by them.
We cheered at the 45 mile mark & at the finish line.
Sad, that so unlike running races, there are no family or cheerleaders. The smiles on the faces of the people we were cheering for while waiting was awesome.

Blister prevention?
Vibram’s worked wonderfully but left big blisters on the bottom of both big toes.
Suggestions for prevention? Will that area callous? Should I try socks with them?
Who PR’d?! This girl. Chip time 31:54. Never even dreamed that possible.

The course :) a great morning for a 5k (Taken with instagram)
In other news (aka if life could only be this easy)
Went to the store yesterday for new Vibrams. Fully intended on buying the Bikili (sp) LS model. I had read so many reviews on them.
Problem: my left foot is a bit longer than my right. Right foot felt amazing in them. Left hurt. Next size, too loose on right.
So I tried in the Speeds. Perfect fit both feet. Got out my phone to review the Speeds. Very few reviews out there and Vibram website calls them an everyday shoe not necessarily a running shoe.
My sales guy was busy telling me which looked better and commenting on “that Internet.” (he was old).
Finally my husband said, “buy the ones that don’t hurt as you are walking around the store with them. Why would anyone leave a store with shoes that feel like their toe is exploding? Especially to run in?”
So, here I am with the Speeds—still hoping I made the right choice.

4am
Woke up literally in tears.
1 day. Caught between 2 worlds because of different things that happened yesterday.
The one thing: made me feel extremely happy and proud and validated in what I do.
The other: the complete opposite. Feel extremely sad and a failure and questioning all I do.
Can you guess which is winning at 4am?
I just need to run…. But for now need to try to sleep. I have a race in the morning.
I hate night time
Feeling this EXACT way…Because it’s the time that I wish I was the kind of girl who: dealt with change like it was no big deal, didn’t take things personally, felt adequate, could move on, didn’t worry about what may or may not happen in the future, didn’t beat herself up.
Bummer. I’m working on it, though.
